For the ECB’s new cricket competition, The Hundred, our purpose-built draft application system was the vital centralised hub in both the lead-up to and during the inaugural live draft.
The system managed the player registration process for the ECB enabling over 1000 cricketers, globally, to register their interest in the competition. It also underpinned the live draft event, providing the official timing data and used by team managers to bid for and select players, also driving live graphics for the host broadcast coverage of the draft.
We worked with AE’s team to build a multi-faceted player registration system for the inaugural Hundred Draft. Their experience both of cricket and similar draft and player auction processes was invaluable, as was their relationship with our broadcast partners that helped us successfully manage the live broadcast of the event.
The much-anticipated player selection process took place live from Sky Sports’ studios. Our software control applications managed the official timing data, as well as large display screens in the studio, that both team managers and Sky Sports production used to gather up-to-date information.
The player selection process saw the world’s best cricketers traded by managers of eight brand new teams live on-air using our suite of applications.
