AE Live is a leading provider of television graphics. We offer graphics design, delivery, remote production, virtual studios and augmented reality solutions
AE Live (AE) is proud to be working on its second consecutive Rugby World Cup. AE, in partnership with STATS Perform, will be delivering the tournament information system and host broadcast graphics service throughout the six-week long tournament which commences in Japan on 20th September.
The graphics style for this year’s tournament has been designed by Ignite agency and AE’s in-house creative team has realised the design in Vizrt. In excess of 60 different graphics templates have been produced, including for the first time in the competition’s history, augmented reality (AR) content.
A total of 32 operational AE staff, consisting of four production and eight technical crews, will travel to Tokyo, covering, between them, 12 match venues, providing an on-site presence at all 48 matches. From a technical perspective, AE’s crews will be responsible for rigging each venue in advance of fixtures and offering match day support. The production crews, consisting of a match operator, first level logger, official timekeeper and AR operator, will be charged with producing the world feed with IGBS (International Games Broadcast Service).
An additional AE operational team will also be permanently situated at the International Broadcast Centre for every match of the competition, overseeing the remote production of a UHD and multi-language unilateral graphics feeds.
Away from Japan, AE are also working with a number of MRLs (Media Rights Licensees), including ITV Sport, SuperSport, Ten and TVNZ, providing a range of services to assist with their presentation of the Rugby World Cup to domestic audiences.
