We delivered our second successive Rugby World Cup with the 2019 event in Japan, providing host broadcast graphics and data solutions for World Rugby’s flagship event, in partnership with IGBS.
The event graphics were designed by Ignite Agency and realised by our in-house creative team which built over 60 graphics templates for use on the world feed plus optimised stadia big-screen content. On-site operational teams delivered the official timing system, first level data capture, world feed graphics and augmented reality content.
At the International Broadcast Centre, in Tokyo we remotely delivered UHD and multi-language unilateral graphic feeds for every match of the competition.
AE has proved to be an excellent partner for World Rugby, providing their world class services at numerous events, including the last two showpiece World Cup events in 2015 and 2019. Their experience and understanding both of the sport of rugby union and the technical and logistical challenges of delivering a consistent service at complex and large-scale events makes them such a valuable supplier.
Our team built and delivered big-screen content at every match venue, which was available in both English and Japanese language.
A total of 32 operational staff, consisting of match operators, first level loggers, official timekeepers and AR operators plus eight technical crews, travelled to Japan, covering all 48 matches of the tournament.
