AE Live was delighted to deliver graphics on BBC’s first live cricket match in over 20 years as UK audiences tuned in to watch the recent T20 international between England and Pakistan at Old Trafford. The occasion was made even more special for AE Live, formerly known as Alston Elliot, having also delivered the graphics on BBC’s last televised match back in 1999.
BBC’s new TV deal will see them show 10 live matches as well as international highlights from 2020-2024. In the build-up to the coverage, AE Live’s creative team worked closely with BBC to create a new broadcast graphics package that was consistent with the broadcaster’s familiar look. On-site, AE Live operators are scoring every ball and delivering match and presentation graphics.
AE Live’s project manager, James Smith, commented “We were very excited to assist BBC with their first live cricket match in over 20 years. To be able to say we were also on-site back in 1999 when they last televised a live match is a really nice story. We were very pleased with how the first live match went and we’re looking forward to working on further matches.”
